United States Department of Commerce Voted #2 in Best Places to Work in the Federal Government Survey for Large Agencies

It is important to most of us that we enjoy our work but difficult to know when you’re looking for a job whether we’ll be happier working for one employer versus another. Since 2003, The Partnership for Public Service has awarded federal government agencies voted among the best places to work. For 2014, the second best place to work among large agencies was the United States Department of Commerce.

The headquarters of the United States Department of Commerce (DOC) is located in Washington, D.C. at the Herbert C. Hoover Building.  This part of the federal government is responsible for encouraging growth of the economy and making life better for all of the American people.  The DOC focuses on achieving these goals through competing in the world of technology and sustainable development.  Two of its tasks include obtaining information based on economics and demographics to make business and government decisions, as well as helping to shape industrial standards.
