Starbucks logoIt is important to most of us that we enjoy our work but difficult to know when you’re looking for a job whether we’ll be happier working for one employer versus another. A great way to know if an employer offers a great place to work is to ask the people who know the organizations best — their employees. For the past six years, Glassdoor has awarded its Employees’ Choice Awards to honor the 50 best places to work.  For 2014, the 39th best place to work was Starbucks Corporation. Known as the world’s biggest coffeehouse company, Starbucks Corporation is a global coffee company and coffeehouse chain in the United States, headquartered in Seattle, Washington.  Founded in 1971, Starbucks has over 20,000 stores around the world, including more than 13,000 in the U.S.  Some of the foods and drinks served are hot and cold beverages, whole-bean coffee, microground instant coffee, full-leaf teas, pastries, and snacks.  Additionally, in most stores you will find pre-packaged food items, hot and cold sandwiches, and items such as mugs and tumblers.

Why work at Starbucks Corporation?  One reason is that you can become a partner at the company, not just an employee.  This means having the opportunity to be your best by growing both personally and professionally.  Another reason to work at Starbucks is the chance to connect to something bigger.  You won’t be just selling food and drinks, but also selling a brand that promotes positive change through community service.  There is also a diverse and inclusive workplace.  Bringing together employees and suppliers with a variety of perspectives demonstrates a willingness for everyone to be a part of the company’s success.

You can consider several career opportunities at Starbucks Corporation.  They include the following:

  • Retail
  • Corporate
  • Manufacturing and Distribution
  • International
  • Military & Spouses

In addition, college students and recent graduates can consider entry-level opportunities, internships, and more.
