Nike logoIt is important to most of us that we enjoy our work but difficult to know when you’re looking for a job whether we’ll be happier working for one employer versus another. A great way to know if an employer offers a great place to work is to ask the people who know the organizations best — their employees. For the past six years, Glassdoor has awarded its Employees’ Choice Awards to honor the 50 best places to work.  For 2014, the 29th best place to work was Nike Inc.

When you hear the phrase “Just Do It”, who do you think of?  Most of you probably said Nike Inc., a multinational corporation in the United States responsible for designing, developing, manufacturing, and internationally marketing and selling footwear (such as Air Jordan’s), apparel, equipment, accessories, and services.  Nike’s headquarters are located in Beaverton, Oregon and is only one of two Fortune 500 companies with headquarters in the state.  Originally founded as Blue Ribbon Sports by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight in January 1964, the company transitioned into Nike Inc. in May 1971.  Today, the company employs over 44,000 people around the world.
