Twitter logoIt is important to most of us that we enjoy our work but difficult to know when you’re looking for a job whether we’ll be happier working for one employer versus another. A great way to know if an employer offers a great place to work is to ask the people who know the organizations best — their employees. For the past six years, Glassdoor has awarded its Employees’ Choice Awards to honor the 50 best places to work.  For 2014, the second best place to work was Twitter.

Social media website Twitter gives users an opportunity to interact with people through messages known as “tweets”, with 140 characters being the maximum number per tweet.  Individuals with accounts are allowed to send and read messages, while followers are limited to just reading them.  Twitter can be accessed in multiple ways: from your computer, through short message service, or by application on your mobile device.  Headquartered in San Francisco, Twitter Inc. is also represented in New York City, Boston, San Antonio, and Detroit.

So, why should you work for Twitter?  You will get the opportunity to challenge yourself in an effort to make things better, as well as impacting other people.  The company is also a place to share information and express your opinions.  You won’t have to be afraid to ask questions because the culture at Twitter promotes being open and trustworthy.  Wouldn’t it be great to be happy on the job while working with employees who have a goal of getting the job done?

If you are a college student or recent graduate, Twitter welcomes you.  They are on the hunt to find the best candidates for entry level jobs and internships.
