Technology Implementation Specialist

This is an IT generalist who will Interface with the business, technical specialists, project managers, facilities, and vendors to develop and deliver technical infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements, including the networking, server, storage, and audio-visual disciplines. Responsible for the successful delivery of technical infrastructure solutions, managing their quality, cost, and delivery schedule throughout the implementation lifecycle.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Coordinate technical requirements gathering for infrastructure projects with business stakeholders, technical specialists, and vendors.
•    Provide capital and expense budget estimates for implementing infrastructure and facilities projects.
•    Lead the activities necessary to complete the implementation of mid to large scale, complex technical infrastructure projects.
•    Problem management to resolve issues that develop during implementation to maintain project timeline and budget goals.
•    Manage the relationships with business sponsors, internal technical specialists and external vendors throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure projects.

 

Skills:
•    Networking, including a thorough understanding of structured cabling installation, intermediate knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN concepts, and working knowledge of voice and video services.
•    Audio-visual, working knowledge of video, audio, digital switching, and controller GUI layout.
•    Familiar with server and storage components, UPS and power distribution systems, and project management.
•    Familiar with capital and expense budget principals, including appropriation requests, purchase orders, and budget tracking.
•    Familiar with facilities project management principals.

 

Problem Solving:
•    Coordinate problem resolution with internal technical specialists and vendors to correct installation and post installation operational issues with IT and AV infrastructure components.

 

Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor's Degree preferred.
•    5+ years of technical experience in structured cabling and UPS and power distribution, LAN/WAN/WLAN networking, servers, storage, and audio-visual implementation and operations.
•    Multi-disciplinary team leadership and project management experience.
•    Professional certifications (desirable):MSCE, CCNA, CTS

 

Travel Requirements:
•    Travel is required, up to 25% per year
