Associate Manager Global Consumer Insights



Reporting to the Manager Advanced Analytics Global Consumer Insights, the Associate Manager Advanced Analytics, GCI position provides analytics expertise, thought leadership and consultative support in uncovering consumer and market insights through actionable research initiatives and comprehensive analyses.

The Associate Manager will act as an insight hunter, data analytics expert, change agent and trusted business partner to teams across Hasbro’s global organization. Specific responsibilities include executing comprehensive and complex analytics projects and delivering concise, data-driven presentations to inform business decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, advanced analytics (marketing & media mix, forecasting, pricing optimization, etc.), big data, data blending and other cutting-edge analytical analyses. The Associate Manager will also have responsibility for monitoring global trends and disruptive forces across consumer segments, industries and markets and proactively sharing knowledge/insights throughout the organization utilizing a variety of innovative communication vehicles.

The Associate Manager will evaluate and manage a select group of research partners to provide provocative, highly actionable consumer/market insight and strategic direction.  This person will co-lead initiatives to improve GCI systems and processes (e.g., methodologies, data sourcing, reporting/dashboard tools, data processing efficiencies, forecast/ predictive modeling capabilities, etc.).


Job Responsibilities:

Advanced Analytics/Big Data
• Co-manage GCI’s Big data/advanced analytics work including a proprietary central intelligence tool, Marketing Mix analytics, forecasting, pricing analytics and predictive modeling analytics initiatives.
• Co-manage the GCI proprietary central intelligence tool. This includes helping to define and execute the vision as well as ongoing upgrades to the system -- identifying and creating new capabilities that are aligned with evolving business needs.
• Co-manage multi market MMM work.
• This will be an integral part of the role accounting for ~50% of time.
• Develops and executes strategic research projects utilizing conventional and innovative methodologies. Activities include, but are not limited to, strategic opportunity assessment, marketing/media optimizations, opportunity sizing, industry forecasts, whitespace identification, consumer and market trend identification. Clearly and concisely articulates implications and makes recommendations for action.
• Utilizes a variety of sources and collaborates with research partners (internal & external) to validate and integrate diverse insights and expertise across the organization.
• Identifies early “faint signals” to proactively determine potential strategic threats and opportunities.
• Conducts thorough and careful analysis of large data sets and gathers critical information to help inform business decisions and strategic planning. Identifies correlations, patterns, trends, business implications and actionable recommendations.
• Effectively prioritizes tasks and projects to deliver quality solutions based on set timeframes.
• Manages tactical and ad-hoc data analysis, including outsourcing as appropriate and ensuring internal partners are properly trained on various tools.

Foster Stakeholder Partnerships and External Partnerships
• Manages all aspects of projects, including identifying objectives, designing methodology, synthesizing and analyzing research and reporting on findings in a clear, concise and actionable way.
• Manages resources effectively to deliver results within the project requirements (objectives, schedule and costs).
• Evaluates vendors and methodologies to provide the highest quality information and insights to internal clients. Assists in supplier evaluation annually.


Communicate Research Findings

  • Communicates research findings via reports and presentations to management to ensure clear understanding of information and implications.
  • Creatively utilizes non-traditional communication vehicles to ensure insights are understood and adopted across the company.
  • Assist Manager with quarterly reporting of big data insights to key internal clients.
  • Acts as editor and approver of key deliverables created by co-ops, temps and/or external suppliers.
  • Consistently ensures the integrity and correct interpretation of all research information.
  • Proactively tracks and communicates broad consumer and market trend information. This includes trend identification, analysis, and communication/dissemination.


Educational background and skill requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or MBA degree in related area
  • 3 to 5 years Market Research, Analytics or Strategic Planning/Consulting experience in a fast paced, innovative CPG, entertainment, global retail, or technology industry
  • Strong consultative, project management and organizational skills
  • Proven data gathering and analytical skills
  • Strong experience with secondary data sources (NPD, Nielsen, IRI data) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills – technical proficiencies in Powerpoint, Excel and Word; Access, VBA, Power BI and Tableau a plus
