Description:



SAIC requires an experienced Electrical Engineer with domain expertise to assist in the acquisition of mission critical focal plane array (FPA) modules (FPMs) for space applications. The selected candidate will focus exclusively on the design, development, integration, test, and delivery of multi-spectral FPMs that consist of a commercially manufactured Read Out Integrated Circuit (ROIC) and a custom-designed and manufactured detector array.

The following tasks are representative of those that will be accomplished at the request of the customer:
- Support the customer in the oversight of FPM hardware development, integration, and test activities at the Contractor and associated vendor facilities
- Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the FPM-level and then work with the Contractor to develop and evaluate mitigation approaches
- Perform in-depth review and analysis of programmatic (cost and schedule) detail in addition to technical (performance) detail o Perform independent reviews of complex technical design documentation and cost/schedule execution metrics

- Engage other SAIC and USG SMEs as appropriate and produce an integrated FPM end-to- end product

- Develop productive relationships with Contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts

- Provide formal and informal feedback to the COTR, Subject Matter Experts, and other customer personnel

- Support requirements activities with the development Contractor.

- Assist in flow down of requirements from higher level documents.

- Review/monitor subsystem and unit test and verification/validation planning and execution.

- Attend FPM, subsystem, and segment level design reviews and program management reviews to assess design maturity, requirements compliance

- Provide expert advice concerning all aspects of FPM development

- Review and analyze FPM schedules, earned value, test results, sell-off package reports, hardware build and integration plans/procedures, test plans/procedures, ERB packages, FRB reports, etc.

- Review drawings, documents and procedures for design, manufacturing, integration, and test and provide comments to the Contractor and/or USG o Track development issues, significant accomplishments and upcoming events and provide weekly status updates to the customer

- Attend FPM-related working groups to assess design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the USG

Qualifications:

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
- Direct experience with FPM design, manufacture, assembly, alignment and test
- Direct experience with ASIC design, manufacturing, and test
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated sustained superior performance
- Available to travel domestically Desired Attributes
- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Basic understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures
- Experience in DOD/IC acquisition and program management processes
