Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Scope:

1. Supply Planning: Manage the short and intermediate-term production capacity planning across multiple factories, and division level functional groups. This role will be accountable to deliver reliable aggregate production plans on a monthly basis. This person will be instrumental in detecting, elevating, and solving critical supply issues that could impact division-wide business performance.

2. SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP): The person will become the subject matter expert for IBP capacity planning. This position will assist the planning and SC organization with process improvements, master data maintenance, trouble shooting and problem solving. They will provide training needs on IBP as required. This role works globally with plant planners, division planners and IT to improve IBP processes.

3. Other support: Lead or assist with process improvement and cost reduction activities through both formal projects and informal initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Business Supply Planning:

  • Review, map, and create both capacity and demand management processes for the manufacturing of dies, utilization batch & support services such as lab services.
  • Analyzes data (demand/capacity/inventory) to make capacity recommendations to manufacturing planning group and provide input into the monthly S&OP process.
  • Build monthly division master plan for capacity planning. Monitor for trends and identify changes to production plans to achieve targets. Set inventory targets.
  • Develop and implement process improvements driving to process standardization.
  • Establish and maintain polices, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaboration with global manufacturing sites to coordinate and solve issues.
  • Manage and/or provide input for the assumption management processes.

2.SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Subject Matter Expert

  • Assist planning organization with process improvements.
  • Maintain key master data information within IBP and other master data systems.
  • Support End User/Power User questions in a prompt and service oriented manner.
  • Build knowledge and awareness of IBP capabilities to proliferate to all users.
  • Maintain and develop applicable policies, process and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and global IBP experts.
  • Coordinate with IT on quarterly system upgrades and execute testing protocol.

3.Other Support:

  • Lead or assist with formal process improvement projects associated with the strategy or planning processes, using DMAIC, DESGN or other Corning tools. The scope of such projects will range from small improvements, to potentially leading division-level process changes.
  • Drive day-to-day process improvement projects and cost reduction activities by improving existing processes and supporting plant initiated ideas.

Performance Metrics:

•Customer service (Ship to Request, Ship to Promise, Order Confirmation).

•Plant costs, division profitability and division cash flow.

•Overall plant capacity, asset utilization, OEE.

•Inventory performance to targets.

•Supply chain metrics such as logistics costs and order-to-deliver cycle times.

•Accomplishment of agreed upon project milestones.

•IBP master data compliance.

Function/Technical:

•Supply chain management, including basic capacity & inventory planning.

•CET manufacturing knowledge.

Required Education and Experience:

•Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technical, or Supply Chain.

•3-5 years industry experience in manufacturing organization (direct or support).

•Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross functional team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

•Strong preference for manufacturing experience

•Experience in plant scheduling, logistics or supply chain functions.

•APICS certification – CSCP, CPIM

•Experience working with multiple facilities to accomplish a single objective

•Lean or Six Sigma Certification or equivalent experience

•SAP or other planning software knowledge or understanding
