The Design & Content Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Scotiabank Integrated Marketing Online Network (SIMON) to support local area marketing in expanding its brand. This entails ensuring executional accuracy and excellence with brand consistency and positive brand image. This role involves working closely with internal, external partners and vendors, ensuring an integrated approach to content creation. The incumbent must balance technical, analytical, business and creative skills.




As Administrator, provides support for the day-to-day operations of SIMON across key business divisions including Personal Banking, Small Business, Home Financing Solutions, Scotia Wealth Management and other units as needed, working with internal and external partners to manage development of all creative materials for the site.

Triage requests from the Canadian Marketing and Scotia Wealth Management groups, ensuring brand alignment and requirements are met.

Maintain strong relationships with internal Scotiabank resources and external vendors.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of the SIMON application infrastructure, its components and related dependent system applications such as IntraLink and Portfolio Management Tool (PMT) and marketing philosophy and environments.

Design and create a wide range of net new customer facing materials using InDesign, Photoshop and SIMON.

Manage the requests for campaign materials through development to launch.

Ensure executional accuracy and professional excellence in all local area marketing and maintain a clear customer focus in all communication projects emanating from the Bank.

Primary role in the development and execution of all French local marketing materials as well as providing translation with list of materials to post and follow-up/testing.

Provide technical support to managers of SIMON templates and Content Management architecture.

Act as strategic partner to the Canadian Marketing and Scotia Wealth Management teams, providing recommendations on the creative and visual organization of the site to optimize user experience.

Develop technical requirements documents to build and execute optimal user experience, consisting of creating wireframes for site design and navigation.

Supports template development including requirements documentation, testing and sign-off.

Participate with IT&S in system testing including execution of test cases, reporting bugs and re-testing through to IST and QAT, and providing final signoff prior to going into Production.

Provide analysis, critique and review of vendor provided requirements documentation.

Conduct monthly MAAG usage analysis and create summary reports.

Content management of images by collecting, resizing, and preparing images for Scotiabank repository.

Accurately track all hours and revisions for studio metrics.



Solid understanding of Scotiabank’s Brand Identity guidelines.

Proficient in HTML, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat

Highly Organized

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate opportunities into an action plan

Detail oriented with strong proof reading capabilities

Attention to detail, but with an eye on the big picture

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a great level of leadership

Be able to work to tight deadlines and in a pressured environment

Excellent project management skills; well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to set priorities, multi-task and stay on top of deliverables

Ensure executional accuracy, attention to detail and professional excellence for all elements of each campaign/marketing communications program

Proven ability to manage and maintain internal and external client partnerships

Assist in the archiving of all licensed images for the Scotiabank repository.

Creative problem-solving and analytical skills



Degree in Graphic Design, Advertising or Marketing

4+ years in role in either an in-house studio, publishing or agency environment

Sound knowledge of marketing disciplines and processes within the financial industry.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills to clearly communicate the complexities and components of any project to external suppliers and internal groups.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of digital marketing, and content management systems
