Job Summary

Coordinates all processes in the assigned areas of fiscal responsibility for the preparation of the Hospital System's annual operating, service line, and capital budgets. Provides analysis and reporting of the budgets for all of the department's processes to achieve the System's financial goals and to support the organization's Strategic Plan. Coordinates all efforts with other staff to complete the assigned duties in a timely and efficient manner. Administers the department's budgeting information system by development of current functionality and implementation of new functionality to support the organization's information demands. Support Manager, Forecast and Budget, through positive communication and by providing accurate and timely information adequately reviewed prior to submission.  Support other staff by communicating effectively, developing skills in unassigned areas of fiscal responsibility, and offering assistance when available.  Demonstrate proficiency with budgeting information system and other information systems required to coordinate all activities within the assigned areas of fiscal responsibility and develop accurate budget assumptions and analysis. Enhance professional growth and development through such activities as professional affiliations, participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, workshops and review of current literature.

 

Operates with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Performs a variety of complicated projects.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  Familiar with a variety of  accounting, finance and budget concepts, practices, and procedures.  

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Minimum Experience

5 years - Progressive Accounting, Financial Analysis, Budgeting, or Other Healthcare Financial Management

CPA, MBA, MHA - Preferred
