Responsibilities:

As a member of the recycle plant crew, the operator is expected to safely and efficiently operate various pieces of mobile and fixed plant equipment as noted below. Activities include completing pre-trip inspections, operating equipment, monitoring plant processes, maintaining / repairing plant equipment and completing site related reclamation activities.

 

As a member of the recycle team, the operator will be required to assist with reclamation, maintenance, repair and housekeeping around the plant as requested by plant management.

 

Essential Job Duties:

- Complete a pre-shift / area inspections

- Operate mobile equipment including, but not limited to, bull dozer, excavator (with rock breaker attachment), loader, articulated haul truck, skid steers, fork lifts, water trucks and man lifts

- Operate the portable recycle plant which includes vibratory grizzly feeder, jaw crusher, conveyors, electro-magnet, stacker, generator, water pump etc.

- Complete typical repairs on portable recycle plant including welding, cutting, conveyor belt replacement, skirt board replacement, change gear boxes / v-belts / pulleys / screen cloth / crusher liners etc

- Maintain equipment including greasing as outlined by Preventative Maintenance Program

- Complete needed safety and environmental inspection, reports and repairs

- Ensure proper quality of final product (free of debris and metal)

- Perform housekeeping (clean, shovel, remove trash and debris) to ensure a safe, clean and complaint operation

 

Qualifications:

- Strong, team oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance

- Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies

- Strong mechanical aptitude

- Understands and complies with MSHA regulations preferred

- MSHA Miner Training Certification preferred

- Provide own hand tools required to complete the job duties

- Ability to work well with others

- High school diploma or GED equivalent or 3 years industry related experience

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- 3 years mobile equipment operational experience on bull dozer (D9 size), excavator (, loader (980M size), articulated haul truck, skid steers, fork lifts,water trucks and man lifts

- Previous experience with repair and maintenance on stackers and conveyor belt, feeders, jaw crushers, cone crusher and vibratory screens

- Previous experience operating, relocating and maintaining / repairing portable aggregate plant equipment (feeders, screens, jaw crushers, cone crushers)

- Experience welding and cutting (Oxygen / acetylene torches) preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle

- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, balance, and climb

- Good vision (wither naturally or with correction)

- Able to lift 75 pounds on a routine basis

- Able to work in wet and dry conditions and extreme heat and cold

- Work in an environment that may include mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises requiring the consistent use of proper PPE

- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces

- Work overtime and various shifts times as required

- Weekend work as required to meet customer demands

- Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary
