As a Principal UI Developer, you have the opportunity to accelerate the innovation and delivery of the Ariba products.  You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to   expand the Ariba Cloud to cover every corner of the globe.  You will have the opportunity to work on internet scale level problems and complex business problems. To succeed in this position, you must be passionate about the user experience and be very results-oriented to get things done.


You will deliver amazing software solutions based on Java/HTML5/Javascript/CSS.  You will work collaboratively in a lean development model and develop high quality software that delights SAP customers. You will be responsible for the user experience research, planning, design and assessment of the applications UI.



  • Build highly desirable and highly usable products with a strong customer first focus
  • Build prototypes to explore new scenarios enabled by in-memory computing and mobile devices.
  • Provide strong leadership on UI and Web development activities
  • Play an active role in all aspects of the development process of a new application including identification of user needs, prototyping, iterative end user validation and testing/supporting produced code.
  • Ensure projects are delivered with high-quality, on-time, and according to pre-defined business and technical specifications.
  • Interpreting business requirements into effective UI and server side specifications
  • Definition, creation, production and review of user interface and usability requirements
  • Productization of user scenarios
  • Work collaboratively with development, solution management and UX team members from diverse technical, creative and business backgrounds. 



  • 12+ years of development experience developing production grade software
  • Deep expertise (8 to 10 yrs+) on Web Development
  • Excellent coding skill in Java
  • Strong knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS, and Server side frameworks
  • Experience in Angular and MEAN stack a huge plus
  • Strong UI architectural skills 
  • Strong conceptualization and visual communication ability
  • Exceptional design sense, production value and attention to details
  • Strong understanding of the E2E request/response cycle between client and server (HTTP, Server side, browser internals) for delivering blazing fast, high performance applications
  • Bachelors degree required (advanced degree preferred)
