We are looking for talented, motivated and innovative engineers to join our highly skilled development team in Maidenhead. Working with a broad range of cutting edge architecture and technologies, you will be helping to implement and deliver high performance micro-services that are relied upon to support the delivery of world class Expense products to our prestigious network of blue chip customers, all within a collaborative DevOps and Agile environment


Working in the Service Workbench & Next Gen Audit team at SAP Concur, you will collaborate with highly skilled engineers on a critical product that supports expense auditing, invoice capture and receipt recognition for over 3000 different clients. With over 2 million transactions processed a month, your skills will be needed to ensure that this highly performant system remains fully operational and up to date with zero downtime.


To be successful you will need to


  • Understand system architecture from a high level and feel comfortable explaining functionality to audiences of varying technical expertise
  • Work collaboratively with team members both locally and globally
  • Be comfortable suggesting new ideas and approaches to existing implementations
  • Think outside the box to solve the broad range of technical challenges that come from building consumer scale systems
  • Participate in traditional Agile meetings and liaise with customers and product owners to understand and deliver system requirements


Key Technologies


  • 3+ years full-stack application development engineer with experience of some of the related technologies below and passion, desire and drive to learn the rest!
  • Desired skills include Java, REST web services, Spring, Junit, Functional-Programming, JavaScript, SQL-Server, Git, CI/CD
  • Experience of any of the following will also be advantageous - Scala, RxJava, NoSQL, Messaging Systems, Docker, Kubernetes, Hystrix, Selenium, Gatling, Wiremock
  • A general understanding of scalable micro-service and Akka actor design patterns.
  • Technical curiosity and passion for exploring new technologies for our future Tech roadmap.
  • Participating in a fully agile software development team, collaborating with product owners to prioritise requirements and with a focus on delivering small chunks of functionally complete software in an iterative sprint cycle
  • A Devops oriented approach, creating and maintaining delivery pipelines that support continuous integration and deployment of microservices into production and actively monitoring, assessing and tweaking the health of those services.
  • A quality focussed mind-set, being able to analyse and mitigate risk in the system and recognising that quality is owned by every member of the agile team. Being able to implement automated tests at all applicable levels (unit, integration, end to end) using a range of technologies.
