JOB SUMMARY CBRE Heery seeks a Commissioning Agent for a manufacturing facility construction project in Reno, NV. This will be an initial 6 months duration with the potential to be extended as a long term.assignment. Candidates will demonstrate strong self motivation, excellent communication skills and a thorough understanding of MEP building systems and commissioning processes. The Commissioning Agent will provide oversight of commissioning projects and will direct and administer the systematic process for commissioning building services from concept design through functional testing of systems to post occupancy verification. Also, verifies that designed, installed and tested plant and equipment satisfies the environmental performance criteria specified and meets the client's operational needs through all operational seasons. Is an objective, third party Building Services advocate acts in a staff advisory capacity of the Owner who exercises discretion and independent thought in fulfilling the role. Will report to the Snr Cx Agent and Operations Manager and will assist with, training and development. Provide commissioning related services and QA/QC on project sites as assigned by Operations Manager. Supports project team by delivering building commissioning services that require application of standard techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger one. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reviews, develops, and collates construction project related reports and deliverable documentation for review and approval. Performs on-site inspection, testing, validation and verification of building system for small projects. Reviews construction related design documents, drawings and specifications for approval. Plans, chairs and documents all project commissioning meetings. Verifies design documents, equipment submittals and measured performance are consistent with the specifications and client's operation requirements. Performs onsite observations relating to installation of building systems; prepares associated documentation for approval.. On smaller projects, directs onsite system testing and monitoring of complex and integrated systems. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Coordinates and assigns tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project team. Leads project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees. May have responsibility for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating a work unit and/or group. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 10 years' experience working on commissioning of greenfield facilities in one of the following industries Semiconductors Oil & Gas Pharmaceuticals Chemicals Power Generation Excellent technical troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills Self-Motivated and able to plan and execute own work Experience working with completions databases for major projects and analysis of data using Microsoft Excel Willingness to spend significant amount of time in the field assessing and operating building systems Ability to perform Root-Cause Analysis to fix system problems at their source. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Chemical Engineering. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES BCA CCP, CEM, and LEED accreditation, or a P.E. in M/E and OSHA 10 safety certifications all beneficial but not required. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees and client groups to take desired action. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis. REASONING ABILITY Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
