Scope of Position:

Customer facing technical commercial resource that leads understanding product use requirements through designed experiments with customer filling line equipment to confirm the total cost of ownership value over existing products.



• Owns customer line trial experiment design, resourcing, execution, and report out

• Leads response plans for customer issues/data requests

• Identifies differences between engineered product use window and customer use conditions and works with Dev/PE/Quality/Manufacturing to resolve gaps in product design/control plan/manufacturing

• Works with PLMs to determine product use space requirements for vaccines in vials and cartridges • Authors/Co-authors 1-2 technical white papers a month in support of marketing and communication initiatives


Travel: < 25% with the majority being international


Education and Experience:

• BS/MS in Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Physics/Materials Science

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with product design, engineering, or quality


Required Skills:

• Ability to work in a matrixed organization leveraging external and internal division resources to meet individual objectives

• Capable of performing fractography on broken product at customer sites and in the laboratory

• Experience with glass damage mechanisms and laboratory methods for replicating observed failure modes

• Able to communicate complex problems to audiences with a wide range of technical expertise

• Technical report writing skills

• High level of technical rigor


Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of filling line equipment design, inspection technology, and sterilization techniques

• Experience working in pharmaceutical clean room environments

• Understanding of glass chemical durability and the implications to product use conditions/product evaluation
