Position Overview

This position administers all aspects of the parts department for all mobile equipment and shop operations as needed.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


•    Obtaining accurate and timely price quotes from suppliers via phone and email.  

•    Filling parts orders as required. 

•    Processing credits for returned goods. 

•    Confirming accuracy of all packing slips, shipping invoices, vouchers and back orders from suppliers. 

•    Examining and documenting all shipments that are over, short or damaged for subsequent filing of claims. 

•    Making proper use and filing of all parts orders, purchase orders, packing slips and bills of lading.

•.   Receiving and receipting of ordered parts 

•    Opening purchase order requests, processing authorized purchase orders and closing purchase orders.

•    Maintain the proper coding of parts and accessories for inventory.

•    Placing incoming parts and other items into the bins, shelves, drawers or other storage locations. 

•    Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly parts area.

•    Performing related or other tasks as required.  



To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:



  • Associates Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of industry experience


Knowledge/Skill Requirements


  • Strong computer skills
  • General knowledge of heavy duty truck parts, related equipment and safety in shop environments
  • Safety-minded team player
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and documentation skills
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
  • Clean DMV
  • Drug screen and background check required before being employed by Callanan Industries, Inc.

This job will require office, shop and occasional field work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment in the office is usually quiet.
