Within Capital Group, North American Distribution oversees sales and distribution for North America across various client segments including retail and institutional clients.  Their efforts are focused on positioning Capital Group as the active investment manager of choice, providing superior service, sales and marketing experience while broadening our business. 


As an Advisory Specialist in San Antonio, you will help raise and retain assets within a geographic area by creating opportunity based Advisory proposals to be utilized by the Division Business Units (DBU) with advisers.



  • Responsible for raising and retaining assets by creating opportunity based Advisory proposals.
  • Responsible for providing proactive and reactive Advisory expertise and education to all DBU associates on behalf of the Investment Resource Group (IRG), the Adviser Education and Training team and North American Distribution (NAD).
  • Serves as first point of contact on behalf of IRG to the external sales force for fund and other investment related questions.
  • Provides support and may deliver presentations at adviser forums and firm or industry conferences.
  • Provides training to elevate the overall Advisory knowledge of DBU associates.



  • 3+ years of investment industry experience. Knowledge of Advisory business, retirement solutions and other applicable investment products desired.
  • Demonstrates a deep knowledge of American Funds products and services.
  • Demonstrate high degrees of initiative in identifying challenges/opportunities and recommending solutions.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills and attention to detail in areas of high complexity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of associates and clients.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Advanced accreditations (CIMA, CFA, CFP) preferred.
