SUMMARY
Working under general supervision, the Multi-Skilled Forklift Technician performs support functions for mobile equipment/material handling equipment in a retail merchandise supply chain facility. The Multi-Skilled Forklift Technician also provides maintenance support in another area of maintenance.

CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The support mentioned above includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintains and repairs forklifts, pallet jacks, boom lifts, scissor lifts and personnel carts.
  • Assists other technicians in the performance of maintenance activities and/or provides training/guidance.
  • Electronically logs scheduled inspection reports of the operating equipment, fixed building equipment and building structures, maintenance, repairs and other records and schedules.
  • Adheres to all operational, loss prevention and safety standards which includes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the Forklift core duties and responsibilities mentioned above, the Multi-Skilled Forklift Technician performs maintenance and repair support for another area of the facility, including ANY ONE or more of the following.
  • Air conditioning/heating units, chillers, boilers, and environmental control computer systems along with related components.
  • Electronic components of equipment such as balers, printer/appliers, scales, barcode scanning systems, automatic guided vehicles, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Electrical equipment such as substations, power panels, lighting panels, generators, and motors.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and tools used in troubleshooting, repairing and testing all forms of mobile equipment and related components.
  • Experience using mobile equipment required (refresher training upon hire).
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and back-flow prevention devices certifications preferred.
  • Trade school certification in electrical preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Minimum high school diploma/GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the service and maintenance of material handling equipment.
