Job tasks and responsibilities: We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Manager to join our Perth team based in Belmont on a Full-Time basis. Reporting directly to the National Operations and Sales Manager, you will be focused on effectively coordinating the Perth Branch while leading, motivating, training and supporting your teams in the day to day running and management of your allocated Transit Lounge. This encompasses the coordination of operational staff, administrative and warehousing duties and leadership of the teams in the pursuit of effectively and efficiently running the allocated branch. Some responsibilities required are: Maintain key airline partner relationships with local terminals Manage all teams including Pet Handlers and warehouse staff in the facilitation and delivery of transporting pets as scheduled, ensuring pet welfare is never compromised. Manage and operate the branch with a strong sense of ownership and leadership. Ensure branch meets / exceeds all operational and safety standards. Conduct analysis to identify areas of improvement. Develop and implement action plans designed to improve operational and financial performance in managing costs. Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all customers, including proper resolution of all customer complaints. Skills and Experience: Several years’ experience managing a multi-functional team Demonstrated knowledge of transport operations and warehouse management including staff management, performance, scheduling, compliance, safety and training Previous experience in a similar role with exposure to fast paced environments In depth understanding of transport operations and customer satisfaction Highly effective communication skills and negotiation skills Proven leadership capabilities including ability to effectively engage staff on all levels Ability to improve and promote safety including understanding of auditing, road compliance and incident/hazard identification, reporting and investigation Demonstrated ability to plan strategically Well developed PC skills with experience in reporting International Freight Forwarding experience will be highly regarded. A current driver's licence is required while a current forklift licence is desirable though not essential.
