Job Summary:  This position reports to the Human Resource Manager . The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Human Resources related duties at the professional level and carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Payroll, Employee Relations, Benefits, Recruiting, Unemployment Compensation, FMLA, compliance with federal and state reporting and other related duties.  .

Required Experience/Skills :

  • At least 3 years of proven HR Coordinator experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft office – Excel and Power Point in particular
  • Experience with HRIS Systems and Databases

Preferred Experience/Skills :  

  • Experience with FMLA, Leaves of Absences, Benefits Administration
  • Experience working in a Union environment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs onboarding/orientation of new hires.
  • Enters new hires and updates current employee records in HRIS /payroll program
  • Completes I-9 forms/I-9 verifications
  • Assists employees with Benefits and leaves of absence. Tracks and reports on leaves of absences weekly/monthly.
  • Prepares and posts job bids. Completes personnel action forms and submits payroll changes.
  • Files all documents in employee personnel files
  • Creates and maintains employee badges.
  • Schedules return to work physicals,
  • Liase with other departments (payroll, benefits, etc)
