CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICE


Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.


DESCRIPTION


As a part of our Transportation Team, the Inspector will assist upper-level Inspectors and Engineers on construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control to ensure conformance with all applicable plans and specifications. The selected candidate will be responsible for the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in analyzing, compiling, editing, computing, and processing field data. This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Preference will be given to candidates with structural or bridge inspection experience.


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS



  • 0-5 years’ experience

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • Basic mathematic knowledge

  • Experience in construction inspection, in bridge and/or highway

  • Computer skills: MS Office

  • SCDOT certifications a plus


The salary range for this position is $24.00- $48.00 hour.   This will be dependent on the location, experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
