Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in Monticello, MS ( Containerboard ). The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual and display personal ownership of Safety, Manufacturing, and Operational initiatives while working effective in a Team Environment to create the greatest long-term value for GP.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Leading the development and execution of capital and major maintenance projects based on management direction and departmental input
- Developing accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
- Developing and managing the project scope, schedule, estimate, and risk management plan
- Engaging appropriate Georgia Pacific corporate capability groups (legal, project group, risk management, engineering etc.)
- Working with internal customers to develop opportunities to improve competitive position
- Working with management to develop annual capital plans to forecast short and long-term capital projects
- Following all purchasing standard operating procedures
- Managing projects requiring coordination between outside consultants, contractors, and mill personnel
- Staying current with up-to-date technology applicable to areas of responsibility
- Utilizing strategic thinking skills and motivational approach to guide teams through challenges
- Utilizing solid interpersonal skills to effectively facilitate team meetings
- Utilizing MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and AutoCAD
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Previous project management experience in an industrial environment
- Experience with developing accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
- Must have experience working on cross functional teams in a manufacturing environment
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 2-5 years of project management experience in an industrial environment
- Pulp and paper experience
- Large capital project management experience with budgets up to $5 million
The successful candidate will be provided a $10,000 signing bonus after starting the new role. External candidates and internal Koch company employees moving to the new location when hired are considered eligible.
