Sales Manager – Building Materials - Edmonton, AB
$100-$125K base salary, target annual $150K+(uncapped), benefits + perks

Our client is a leading distributor of Italian and European inspired porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone tile for the architectural and design community across Western Canada and US western seaboard. Edmonton is host to their flagship showroom and a dream-come-true for architects and designers.

You will lead the Edmonton branch activity by driving sales, providing leadership, mentoring, and coaching the sales team and supporting dealer network partnerships.

  • Execute strategic plans and marketing initiatives to support branch goals.
  • Use expertise and influence within Architectural & Design industry, delivering presentations, proposing solutions, and providing technical product support.
  • Work closely with clients through the specification process, value-engineering when necessary and maintaining strong relationships to project completion.
  • Support local dealer network providing product & technical knowledge, sales strategies, selling solutions including value-added of premium products and how to close high-profile projects.
  • Inspire and foster a customer service driven culture to achieve superior client satisfaction.
  • Work with internal departments to ensure orders, deadlines, and profitability are on target.
  • Represent and promote the organization at tradeshows, events and in the business community.
  • Coaching and mentoring the sales team on:
    • enhanced sales techniques, closing high value accounts, adding value to the customer experience
    • how to navigate established protocols in approaching Architect and Design firms
    • leveraging marketplace trends and solutions to maximize business opportunities

  • Post-secondary education in Business or equivalent years of sales/leadership experience
  • 5+ years sales leadership building materials
  • Mature business acumen and a ‘hunter’ intuition
  • Strong relationships within architectural and design community
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach and lead a team to achieve goals
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
