Rehabilitation Service Provider – Vocational

WCG’s Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program (RSVP) is delivered on behalf of Veterans Affairs Canada and in partnership with Lifemark Health Group. The RSP Voc is responsible to assist individuals to access, maintain or return to suitable, gainful and meaningful vocational activities. The RSP Voc evaluates the Participant’s current and potential vocational abilities through assessment of the Participant’s physical, cognitive, and psychological abilities to create an objective vocational profile.

As an expert in providing Participant-centered service, you make a difference at the personal and community level by ensuring Veterans achieve their employment goals and receive the best support possible.

What you’ll do
  • Orient the Participant to the vocational services including service timelines
  • Conduct Initial Vocational Assessment interview
  • Research and recommend appropriate services to the RSS to address Participant barriers and functional gaps as identified
  • Complete comprehensive case notes of all consultations and information obtained in the assessment
  • Complete summaries of all specialized and ad hoc assessments in accordance with contract requirements
  • Develop the final report that clearly answers the referral questions with objective evidence to support conclusions and opinion
What you bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Rehabilitation, or a related field
  • Must hold one of the following designations:
    • A current designation as a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Services Professional (CVRP) or or a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Services Professional – TSA or Ordre des Conseillers et Conseillères d'Orientation du Quebec (OCCOQ)
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the direct provision of vocational rehabilitation services (or a combination thereof) to Participants including the following:
    • Experience in conducting medical, psycho-social, or vocational rehabilitation assessments;
    • Experience working with persons living with mental or physical health problems creating barriers to civilian life;
    • Experience analyzing and interpreting medical, psycho-social, or vocational assessments and making recommendations based upon critical analysis of information leading to the development of a comprehensive plan and program of care
  • Note: In Québec, for the delivery of vocational rehabilitation or vocational assistance services the following requirements apply:
    • Career Counsellors registered with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d'orientation du Québec.
  • Thorough knowledge of local labour markets
  • A reliable vehicle and the ability to travel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, in both English and French
  • Canadian Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE) is an asset
  • Employment conditional on obtaining Federal Level Security Clearance Reliability Status.
