Job Description

The Learning Lead (LL) 2 works to identify, recommend, and create digital learning solutions that help the lines of business meet business goals. Critical aspects of the role require a team member with strong skills and experience who:

  • primarily designs and develops digital learning solutions, scopes, implements, evaluates, and manages learning development projects
  • works on complex training projects, sometimes multiple projects concurrently
  • identifies ways to innovate and drive learning retention and mentors more junior members of the team
  • manages a design project lifecycle: receives a project request, helps determine modality, creates the design strategy and digital learning solutions, validates the course on a Learning Management System (LMS) and addresses learner feedback
  • may also spend a significant amount of time editing and enhancing existing programs, especially new hire training

Key Responsibilities

The Learning Lead (LL) 2 works on new training requests and requests to update existing training (typically new hire programs and continuing development programs/learning products) in the following ways:

ProjectManagement/Needs Analysis

  • Reviews initial training requirements and documentation from project sponsor and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Works with project sponsor, management and SMEs to understand needs, make recommendations, and develop training to continuously improve employee performance
  • Applies agile methodologies and manages all aspects of training projects through the learning design process
  • Holds SMEs and others accountable for content delivery, review and approval deadlines, escalates appropriately
  • Regularly communicates project status to all involved parties

Design

  • Identifies and develops innovative, impactful solutions that address requirements, improve learner outcomes and deliver measurable results to the business
  • Employs design thinking, digital design and agile development processes
  • Creates and implements learning products consistent with adult learning theory that effectively conveys key information and achieves learning objectives
  • Identifies effective instructional design techniques/modality to ensure maximum learner retention with emphasis on applying digital first approach
  • Effectively uses current training technology tools and software (e.g., Captivate, Storyline, Vyond, etc.) focusing on both quality and speed to market
  • Designs and develops training for large, complex projects, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing learning programs

Evaluation

  • Designs, executes, and monitors the learning evaluation strategy based on Kirkpatrick’s levels of evaluation
  • Measures the effectiveness of the training by reviewing learner feedback and testing data, addresses gaps as needed
  • Analyzes and summarizes results/impacts and shares with key stakeholders

Teamwork/Culture

  • Ensures collaboration with training peers to identify efficiencies, opportunities to leverage content, design approach, best practices, and innovation
  • Displays a growth mindset by embracing new training technologies and approaches with emphasis on “digital first” design that leads to learning solutions that are effective and efficient
  • Partners with other LLs and other learning professional in workgroups (squads) to execute priority initiatives
  • Partners with Trainers to improve and assess the effectiveness of training content
  • Demonstrates adaptability, is coachable and open to giving/receiving feedback
  • Ensures that all training materials are properly reviewed and approved by required business partners
  • Appropriately follows team procedures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in learning and development, instructional design, educational technology or similar degree (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in design, developing, and implementing instructional design solutions (strongly preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience identifying root cause, performance gaps, recommending non-training solutions (preferred)
  • Strong consulting, negotiation and influence skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong self-awareness and sense of accountability
  • Strong analytical and questioning skills
  • Proven accomplishment in building relationships with customers and internal clients
  • Able to synthesize and distill large amounts of information into key messages
  • Financial services industry experience (preferred)
  • Expertise in advanced design tools (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS), course publishing, SCORM and AICC, eLearning taxonomy and the basics of Internet technology (preferred)
  • Amenable to work late midshift, with flexibility to slide shift, as needed, to support global stakeholders
  • Willing to work in BGC, Taguig
