Description
- The City of Broussard is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to provide support to the City of Broussard through means including but not limited to social media, email marketing, web content, print design for various projects, paid advertising, and video.
- Candidates for this role should be excellent communicators with strong attention to detail.
- Project coordination, event marketing, and notable social media strategy experience will also make you a competitive applicant.
- You will work directly with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to execute all matters of communications on behalf of the City of Broussard.
- Ultimately, your goal will be to help ensure clear communication of our city’s message across all channels.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist CAO in executing a comprehensive marketing plan for major announcements and events, including digital and traditional communications outreach.
- Work with contracted Public Relations and/or Marketing Agency to develop and help manage social media content, web content, or other digital material for City of Broussard, Mayor Ray Bourque, Broussard Sports Complex at St. Julien Park, and Discover Broussard.
- Develop or help manage email campaigns.
- Assist in coordinating and marketing projects and events, including photography.
- Facilitate effective internal communications, such as publishing quarterly employee newsletters.
- Foster a positive relationship with key stakeholders and community groups and assist with public engagement.
- Maintain press list with accurate contact information.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- 2-4 years paid experience in marketing.
- Proven experience managing social media accounts, including strategizing, scheduling, and creating content.
- Working knowledge of managing back-end of websites, along with Google Analytics and other similar data tracking software.
- Demonstrable experience managing SEO/SEM, as well as digital advertising campaigns.
- Capable of identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
- Proficiency in MS Office is required, as well as familiarity with design software (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva) and content management systems.
- Familiarity with email marketing and list management.
- Solid editing and researching skills; familiarity with AP Style is a plus.
- Excellent grammar and communication abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle simultaneous “priority” projects and meet established deadlines.
- BSc/BA in Marketing, Communications or a related field is desired.
Required Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field
- Experience in budgetary management
- Promotion, marketing, and/or sales experience
Other Requirements:
- Requires 24-hour on-call availability, including weekends, nights, holidays, and before, during, and after adverse weather conditions and emergency situations, as required and needed.
