We are currently looking for experienced, motivated, and creative individuals to fill the position of Construction Specialist between our Permian EOR Business Area East, Odessa and McCamey groups and will be located in McCamey, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- The Construction Specialist will work as a member of the Facilities and Construction team comprised of peer Construction Specialists and Facility Engineers (Project managers) that
- Collaboratively plan, design, coordinate and execute Engineering, Procurement & Construction projects to meet field development program online dates and budgets
- Execute construction activities start thru commissioning on upstream surface production facilities supporting production fluids (oil, water, gas) from wellhead thru sales
- Manage contract crews, material procurement and inspections within and outside the company to provide working facilities on time and on-budget in accordance with Corporate HES and industry best practices, policies and procedures.
- Directs and manages assigned Roustabout, Pipeline and General Construction contract crews to efficiently execute construction activities of assigned facilities projects
- Provide input to develop Facility and construction team standards and practices
- Understand production equipment, materials and design that best support project
- Manages major project schedule, resources and enforces product or service quality and compliance to design specifications and operating procedures
- Tracks costs with onsite procured items and/or services required for project activities and reports timely and accurately to designated leadership
- Provide HES leadership and enforces policy compliance
- Identify obstacles that may impact project execution and support mitigating processes
- Demonstrated construction management skills including material & labor planning, cost & schedule estimating, contracting, cost & progress tracking and management, documentation, post appraisal and process improvement
- Knowledge of Pipeline: Materials, Pressure drop calculations, Design, Installation, Estimation
- High proficiency using construction drawings, survey drawings, and installation specifications; able to interpret and create as required
- Basic understanding of automation and electrical design principles
- Demonstrated high level of effectiveness working in a collaborative teamwork environment
- Fundamental understanding of MOCs, HAZOPs and PSSRs
- Extensive expertise in HES/OSHA safe work systems
- Expertise of construction specifications, codes and practices
- Awareness training for Welding procedures, inspections and NDE
- Ability to develop/review Lifting plans for critical lifts
- High school or equivalent education is required
- 5 -10 years of construction experience
- Knowledgeable in Oil and Gas Construction Industry Standards and best practices
- Familiar with basic Project Management Principles and techniques
- Direct experience with maintenance, operation and/or construction for Upstream oil and gas production pipeline facilities
- Experience in rotating equipment (Pumps, Compressors, VRUs): Materials, Design, Installation, Estimation and Operation
- Experience with surface production equipment (Vessels, Tanks, Headers): Materials, Design, Installation, Estimation and Operation
- Familiar with Midstream gas plant operation and maintenance
- Familiar with civil construction activities and associated permits
- Understanding of industry welding requirements and procedures as well as non-destruction evaluation (NDE) methodologies; Certified Welding Inspector (preferred)
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook) and general IT use
- Ability to travel as required
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record are required
