Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator
The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for managing NIC's learning management system (LMS), including content maintenance, user experience, troubleshooting, data reporting, and vendor and team interaction. This position collaborates with NIC Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) for troubleshooting communication issues between LMS and NIC ecourses; NIC leadership teams, Correctional Program Specialists (CPS) and/or NIC ISS position to address evolving learner needs while ensuring consistency, ease of use (both for course developers and for learners), and adherence to industry standards.
The LMS Administrator will be responsible for designing and implementing effective, and innovative learning programs, incorporating analysis, design/development, implementation, evaluation, and technology strategies with NIC staff and federal, state, local, and tribal corrections agencies; providing strategic direction, mentoring, and development to staff in program and learning opportunities throughout the organization; and communicating and partnering with customers, manufacturers, vendors, technical specialists, and NIC staff to incorporate NIC’s strategic plan into the LMS. The LMS Administrator is designated as key personnel.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Educational Technology, and/or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in learning management systems administration experience.
- Experience designing, maintaining, and updating a LMS for improved navigation, organization of content, and improved graphicalinterface.
- Experience training users in LMS, including creating instructional materials and guides in support of trainings.
- Knowledge troubleshooting system performance issues and implements corrective actions.
- Experience in project management, leadership, presenting to a wide variety of audiences, and strong written and verbal communication.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Participating in system upgrades and enhancements.
- Experience developing policy and procedures related to the LMS and effective learning solutions.
