Position Information Posting Number S0601495 Position Title Web Developer Department Enrollment Marketing & Digital Communication FLSA Exempt General Description This position works with a team of marketing and communications professionals to develop, manage, and maintain university web sites and environments through the performance of web design, development, deployment, and maintenance activities. We currently have two positions open. Essential Job Duties
  • Design, create, modify, and maintain university-affiliated websites;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create engaging websites, applications, and services for internal and external audiences;
  • Develop, test, and debug web applications in various browsers and devices;
  • Enhance and modify applications, as necessary, to ensure optimal user experience;
  • Assist in the management of the content management systems and serve as an expert resource for key stakeholders;
  • Provide the user-base with training on CMS usage and website best practices;
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders to ensure digital content and communication efforts meet university standards;
  • Serve as a source of expertise regarding new and existing web-related projects;
  • Ensure web-based content meets or exceeds accessibility guidelines;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties Maintain and enhance knowledge of trends, standards, and best practices related to web-based programming languages and online communication. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to develop effective and engaging user interfaces and user experiences;
  • Ability to evaluate user behavior and apply insights to develop more user-friendly experiences;
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma/equivalent is required;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred;
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in the field is required;
  • Expert-level experience with HTML5 and CSS is required;
  • Working experience of jQuery, JavaScript, PHP , and MySQL is required with in-depth experience preferred;
  • Some experience with XML and XSLT is preferred;
  • Experience developing in/for enterprise-level CMS , ex. Cascade or Omni CMS , is preferred;
  • Experience developing in/for WordPress is preferred.
