Job Description
Title: Recruiter and HR Generalist
Reports To: Controller

Summary of Position: The recruiter is responsible for delivering high quality qualified candidates, while promoting the Patriot Towers’ brand across numerous markets and professional communities. This position guides hiring managers and candidates through the Patriot’s hiring process. Performs full-lifecycle recruiting while maintaining excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates, and the community at-large. This position’s efforts will ensure that Patriot’s recruitment efforts are sustainable and competitive, relative to the Patriot’s strategic plan for growth.

Recruiting Responsibilities:

  • Create job postings as needed
  • Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills and experience
  • Pre-screen candidates and present qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with team for selected candidates
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Extend offers to select candidates under direction of the hiring manager
  • Maintain accurate documentation on all candidates utilizing the applicant tracking system
  • Set up and monitor pre-employment drug screenings & physicals
  • Attend industry appropriate community and higher education job fairs
  • Provide recommendations to improve company recruiting processes
  • Create reports that outline recruiting efforts, successes and near misses
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hiring managers
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Social Media/ Brand Ambassador Responsibilities:
  • Work with all business units to create and execute social media campaigns that help achieve company goals
  • Create content calendar across all social media platforms to ensure a continuous supply of relevant content
  • Monitor the social media accounts of all the brand in the company portfolio
  • Create reports that outlines the performance of social media activities
  • Continuously benchmark competitor social media activity
  • Remain current with emerging social media platforms and recommend those that will benefit the company
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Employee Relations:
  • Onboard all new hires
  • Manage all employee relations issues
  • Prepare disciplinary action memo’s
  • Be available and guide employees through questions or concerns
  • Prepare termination paperwork
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Prepare employee yearly reviews
  • Maintain employee records to stay in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Stay up to date on all federal and state regulations, make necessary adjustments at the company level
  • Complete monthly turnover report
  • Prepare documents for any DOT, DOL and client audits
  • Monitor and maintain documentation for random drug screenings

Competencies/ Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self motivator
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Experience in full life cycle recruiting
  • Experience in recruiting for a broad range of positions
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems
  • Experience in learn and adapting to new recruiting practices
  • Experience in building strong candidate relationships utilizing technology; ie: email, phone

Education/ Experience:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management
  • 1-2 years in a HR experience
  • 1-2 years of benefit experience
  • Construction or manufacturing industry is a plus

Basic Abilities:
  • Basic math, reading and writing
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet applications/ social media
  • Must be able to use common sense and solve problems independently

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift independently up to 25lbs

  • Must be able to travel overnight during the week on occasion
  • Must be able to travel locally as needed
  • Exempt Position- must be able to work extended hours as needed
