Job Description:

 Fatherhood Engagement Specialist

Job Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, health science, or a related field preferred and 1 year of experience in community outreach and/or working with at risk fathers/families with knowledge of maternal and child health: able to create a culture of respect; committed to program principles; and skilled in networking among agencies and individuals. Bilingual preferred. Must have reliable transportation, liability insurance and TN Driver’s License.

Summary of Job:

  • Responsible for conducting community outreach to recruit expecting fathers and fathers of children under 18 months of age, reducing racial and ethnic disparities in infant mortality, development of fatherhood support groups; and implementation of an evidence-based fatherhood curriculum. Serving Marshall, Wayne, Moore, Van Buren, Warren, Jackson, and Fentress Counties in Tennessee.
  • Lead community outreach efforts in order to reach and engage fathers in need of parenting education and support; Implement and facilitate the fatherhood curriculum in the home and group settings; Conduct health education and promotion activities; and Assist in the development of partnerships with other community serving organizations. Work collaboratively with team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading the care delivery team, working directly with participants to develop and implement Individualized Care Plans, and providing case management services, health promotion/education and parenting education. Roles include home visitor, case manager, care coordinator, health educator, parent educator and liaison.

Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work plus appropriate experience or associate degree in counseling, psychology, or social work plus appropriate experience with proof of enrollment and good standing in a regionally accredited bachelor’s degree counseling, psychology, or social work program. Bilingual preferred. Must have reliable transportation, liability insurance and TN driver’s license.

Compliance requirement for annual completion of KPI forms

Regular and Reliable Attendance is required
