Active GA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Required SUMMARY: The Admissions Intake Representative is responsible for managing all intake processes required to efficiently process referrals for admission to Hospice Savannah, Inc. services. This includes reviewing payer sources for eligibility, obtaining all pre-certifications, managing incoming calls, scheduling visits and educating patients and families on services within Hospice Savannah Inc. when appropriate. Stewardship – What I do today ensures tomorrow. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with a current GA LPN License. Knowledge of ICD 9/10 coding and/or medical billing experience preferred. Candidate must have a minimum of three years’ work experience in a healthcare environment, experience in Medical Terminology and accurate data entry and typing skills. This position requires excellent verbal, written, and computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as a working knowledge of general office equipment to include multi-line phone systems, fax machines, and copiers. Must possess strong time management skills as well as the ability to successfully interact and communicate with staff, patients, families, physicians, medical office staff, third party insurers and the community. Excellent customer service, analytical and critical thinking skills are mandatory. Must have access to a personal vehicle and an operable cell phone. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires moderate visual concentration, reading, and computer usage for evaluation of patient charts. This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. (no heavy lifting required), utilizing proper body mechanics and the mobility to bend, twist and stoop as necessary for filing, typing and other general office work and the ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer screen at a desk. This position has daily contact with patients, families, medical facilities, physicians, physician office staff, vendors/suppliers and staff requiring excellent communication and problem solving skills and professional demeanor. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position works a general schedule 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with the required flexibility to work additional days and/or hours as needed. This position may encounter stressful situations with patients and their families regarding end of life care. Additionally, this position may be exposed to infectious diseases requiring use of standard precautions. This position requires occasional travel to various locations between Hospice Savannah and surrounding counties utilizing a personal vehicle. IND123
