The Mechanical Assembler will be required to perform repetitive tasks on a standing production line for long periods of time. The Mechanical Assembler reports to the Assembly Operations Supervisor/CIC. JOB FUNCTIONS Include the following, but other duties may apply. Assemble units using standard hand and power tools to include air-powered tools by reading from schematics, drawings and diagrams. Study and interpret drawings, assembly instructions, and/or standard work instructions to accurately assemble components. Assemble parts, components, compressor systems, or sub-assemblies in the established routed hours to deliver the product on or before the due date. Position or align components for sub-assembly, assembly, manually or using hoists. Determine if all parts are present; communicate to immediate supervisor the status of needed parts to produce units. Focus on achieving the Company’s established quality standards. Rotate through other production lines to assist where needed. Perform co-worker’s job functions during absences within the department. Maintain work environment in accordance with Lean 5S standards and perform tasks in accordance with company safety standards. Use any specialized tooling that is required in respective area. Complete any necessary certifications if required to do so. Maintain a working knowledge of workmanship standards as well as the ISO quality system. Utilize these practices in everyday activity. Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly. Interpret measurements. Reject product which does not conform to specifications. Report errors in product line. Reject and notify supervisor when encountering defective material. Evaluate quality of finished product. Regular and reliable attendance. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE High school education or equivalent; OR at least one (1) year of related experience in general assembly work or mechanical trade work. English fluency and able to communicate with others effectively. Can adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics for placement of parts. Proficient in using standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc. Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power and air tools. Able to follow directions and work independently. Possess high quality standards. VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Associate’s Degree (two-year college or technical school) Field of Study: Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Automotive/Aircraft Mechanics, General Mechanics, or other related field of study. General understanding of custom bent stainless steel tubing and related functions. General understanding of compressor and motor installation and alignment. General understanding of overhead and/or jib crane operation. Any lifting over 50 pounds is required to be done with assistance. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. The employee is required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, masks, etc.) while working or when walking through the plant. Normal working schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm EST; occasional overtime will be required.
