JOB TITLE:Service TechnicianDEPARTMENT:Service and InstallationREPORTS TO:Project ManagerFLSA STATUS:Non-ExemptOVERVIEW: The primary purpose and function of this position is to provide preventative maintenance and repair services at customer locations in accordance with established procedures and methods using appropriate tools, test equipment, and replacement parts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide service to customers in accordance with all of Handicare’s terms and conditionsEstablish and maintain positive relationships with customers and all Handicare’s employeesAccurately identifies customer expectations and needsRecommend products and services based on observed customer needsParticipate in all training programs and demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and concepts obtained from these training programsPrepare and submit accurate reports on timeMaintain expenses and required inventory within Handicare’s guidelinesComply with all health and safety regulationsResponsible for regular maintenance and cleanliness of vehicleAccountable for tools providedAbility for heavy lifting (75-100lbs) is requiredMechanical and electrical aptitudeCommitment to providing superior customer servicePrevious experience in the health care industry an assetOther duties as required.COMPETENCIES:Responds promptly to customer needsSolicits customer feedback to improve serviceMeets commitmentsSpeaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.Responds well to questionsConserves organizational resourcesPromotes a harassment-free environmentTreats people with respect and upholds organization valuesFollows policies and proceduresTakes independent actions and calculated risksDisplays willingness to make decisionsExhibits sound and accurate judgementObserves safety and security proceduresDetermines appropriate action beyond guidelinesReports potentially unsafe conditionsUses equipment and materials properlyLANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedures, government regulations and procedural manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:2-4 years hands-on related technical experienceHigh school diplomaAbility to operate a mobile phone, PC, Microsoft Office applicationsCERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:Valid driver's license in good standingCOMPUTER SKILLS:Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. AutoCAD Inventor and Revit Building software knowledge and experience would be an asset.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The employee may occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 100 lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position works in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels.TRAVEL:This position requires travel.
