If you’re part of the Environment Agency, you’re part of the solution for protecting and improving the environment for people and wildlife. We work nationally with multiple partners and organisations using science and evidence to regulate industry, to prepare for and respond to environmental incidents (including flooding) and to monitor and improve air, land and water. Our work needs diverse, multi-disciplinary and multi-skilled teams. Incident Management and Resilience is one of the national teams within the Environment Agency. Together, we’ll tackle climate change, promote sustainable growth and contribute to a better & more resilient future for everyone.
*Your role with us*
We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about Incident Management and wants to play a part in changing our approach to using technology when responding to incidents. This pivotal role will be instrumental in the roll out of a system that will transform the way incidents are planned for and resourced.
We are looking for a Digital Product Manager to work with our small and medium-sized enterprises, suppliers and developers to oversee the replacement of our current rostering system, to a new tool that allows us to effectively roster and allocate the required staff and asset resources for incident preparation and response. You will be working with us as we prepare for our first release in winter 2023.
If you are up for this challenge, then we are ready to welcome enthusiastic, self-driven individuals to lead these changes with and on behalf of the Incident Management community.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
*What do I need?*
An established professional with a passion for the management and delivery of IT based solutions to Governmental Digital Services standards. Ideally you will have a good knowledge and experience of Incident Management. An understanding of our incident response activities at Area and National levels and incident management logistics tools is desirable.
You will:
* Have excellent people skills, be able to foster a positive team spirit and culture with a clear customer focus.
* Be confident and articulate with a variety of audiences with excellent networking and communication skills.
* Have recent experience of support services, rolling out and embedding new tools and ways of working delivering business change.
* Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, adopting a flexible approach to enable rapid delivery.
* Be motivated and able to work to tight deadlines, use your initiative, set priorities, manage your workload and deliver.
* Understand user needs and business goals to deliver our outcomes.
* Demonstrate good knowledge and a passion for technology.
*What’s in it for you?*
Working at the Environment Agency, you will benefit from an inclusive culture that embraces difference and values everyone, where you’ll feel supported and trusted to do the right thing. We’ll invest in you and allow you to grow and shape your career. What’s more, you’ll have access to our great benefits package including:
* Flexible working with a competitive salary
* An award winning pension fund
* Starting leave allowance of 27 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

To achieve this we welcome applications from all backgrounds, gender, race, neuro-diversity, disability, sexual orientation, and religion. We particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups that make up our nation. The more diverse our perspectives, the more our ability to solve complex problems. We also welcome applicants who require flexible-working or less than full time working arrangements.
