This role will be an embedded clinician within the supply chain acting as a liaison between clinicians and the supply chain. In partnership with key stakeholders from clinical interventional areas (OR, cath labs, GI) will identify system standardization and cost savings opportunities within BILH. Additionally, the Clinical Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be to support the optimization of product and device cost and use, patient care, patient safety, caregiver safety, physician satisfaction, and supply chain performance system-wide.

**Job Description:**

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:**

+ Provides essential input to the supply chain team about the ability to use or validity of the need for interventional products BILH wide.

+ Builds, maintains and manages a strong partnership with our hospital interventional leaders to implement supply chain initiatives.

+ Implements and guides product/service introduction (internal/external), investigation, analysis, education, conversion, issues, and tracking projected outcomes.

+ Decreases product/service expenditures by the selection of the most effective and economical quality product/service based on trial and/or evaluation methods that are evidenced based

+ Directs vendors in the value analysis process and communicates roles and expectations for business partners. While forming a strong working relationship with strategic vendors.

+ Guides project sponsors (team members) with conducting value analysis processes (e.g. procedures, work effort, information).

+ Interacts with physicians, clinicians, and allied health professionals to determine needs and initiate the supply/service evaluation process.

+ Coordinates products/services evaluation and trials to assure the proper use of products, use of appropriate evaluation criteria, documentation of evaluation outcome, and consultation of necessary personnel (e.g. physicians, infection control, biomedical engineering).

+ Coordinates the resolution of any problems associated with product conversions

+ Assists in the identification of alternate products due to backorder supply shortages

+ Evaluates internal and benchmarking data to identify clinical cost savings opportunities

+ Assists in the development and implementation of BILH contracts to ensure cost-effective and quality-driven supplies and services

+ Leads and/or staffs multi-disciplinary teams to select/standardize contracting choices that maximize supply chain savings while meeting clinical and operational needs. Conducts and/or staffs group meetings to facilitate contract review, trials, and implementation

+ Shares information and educates managers and physicians throughout the system to advance others' ability to improve supply chain performance

**Minimum Qualifications**


+ Bachelor's/Master's Degree in a direct clinical role such as Nursing or Advanced Practice Provider; Master's Degree required

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

+ Active Nursing/NP or PA licensure required, AORN certification preferred, Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP) certification suggested


+ Seven (7) years of direct patient care experience. Ideally specializing in perioperative, cardiac cath, GI, interventional areas, and/or critical care.

+ Experience with value analysis committees and or supply chain-related activities preferred.

+ Expertise in healthcare physician preference items and knowledge of clinical commodity items used in acute patient areas is preferred.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Workday experience preferred

+ strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong project management skills including the ability to plan, organize, and complete work projects in a cross-functional team setting

+ results and deadline-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure; strong relationship management skills with the ability to gain buy-in from employees not directly under his/her span of control

+ ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
