POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible in assisting the Appraisal Manger and Reviewer in the appraisal review process. The Appraisal Specialist uses regulatory and appraisal policy knowledge to independently process a high volume of service requests for the Bank.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Appraisal & Environmental Review (100%)

* Process and order residential and commercial appraisal. Solicit bids for residential appraisal report, commercial appraisal reports, and environmental reports.
* Monitor appraisal service request system for new assignments as well as updates and changes to existing ones.
* Primary operator of the appraisal tracking system. Requires high attention to detail and knowledge of appraisal reports, values, and property interests.
* Liaison between lender, MLO, loan processor, and the appraiser. Maintain variety of lines of business updated with outstanding appraisal requests, revisions, and re-inspections.
* Responsible for processing and uploading of vendor invoices and elevating unpaid invoices to appropriate levels within the organization.
* Maintain appraiser relationships through effective communication negotiate fees, process invoices, print & scan to required folder(s) and send documentation to the mortgage processor and accounting department.
* Maintain appraiser licenses and errors & omission insurance records on approved appraiser panel list. Run due diligence searches on appraisers.
* Serves as the front-line for appraisal department meeting its service level accountability targets to the organization. Answer phone calls, resolve complaints, and monitor department shared email inbox.
* Generate statistical reports on appraisal department performance to present to management.
* Other assignments as directed by the Appraisal Manager.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner.
* Perform all assigned duties under Bank's compliance programs and related laws & regulations.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

* Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
* 5+ years of appraising and bank loan review experience consumer and commercial lending.
* Strong verbal/written communication skills, inter-personal, and organizational skills.
* Intermediate competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less.

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:

* Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $25/Hour - USD $30/Hour plus full benefits. Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
