We are seeking a motivated and energetic Associate Production Manager for our Foil Coating Team. Your excellence in people management will enable you to recruit, lead, and develop a team that includes Production Supervisors, Process Technicians and Production Associates. Your experience will enable decision making when working with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and engineering groups of various disciplines. Your combined skills and mental agility will be key to successfully navigating our fast-paced development environment.

* Ensure safety and conduct policies are prioritized and met among employees.
* Build and continuously develop a strong, motivated production team.
* Foster career development for your leadership and engineering team members
* Organize and manage production activities according to organization needs and plans.
* Monitor and report on production KPI's as needed to technical and management teams.
* Mentor and develop supervisory teams.
* Facilitate the development and deployment of standard work whenever a gap is identified.
* Drive continuous improvement methodology tools such as 5S, RCFA, 5Y, and Lean Waste Elimination.
* Direct leadership of 4 Process Technician crews covering a 24/7 operating capability.
* Responsibility for manpower management: day to day line support, in-house repair work, vacation, OT & weekend work scheduling.
* Defining daily tasks and setting directions for the team.
* Collaborate with Engineering Leadership in continuous improvement activities.
* Support Engineering Leadership in standard development and creation of procedures and methods
* Assist with budget development and reporting
* Training and directing the training of Production Associates and Process Technicians to support production requirements.
* Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, correcting proactively workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
* 5+ year production experience managing teams of people.
* Industry experience in roll winding, web conveyance, and slurry handling/mixing is a significant plus.
* BS or MS in a technical discipline and/or evidence of exceptional experience.
* Demonstrated technical acumen such as previous experience as a development or support engineer and demonstrated improvement
* Can demonstrate ability to perform against deadlines and under high pressure.
* Creatively develop & improve production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, yield, costs)
* Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
* Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
* Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Demonstrated years of extensive hands on experience with trouble-shooting and correcting industrial equipment maintenance breakdowns and failures.
* Demonstrated skills in the following areas: Breakdown management & follow up action to prevent repeat occurrences, TPM / PM development and implementation, equipment spare parts management, OEE % improvement.
* Experience in team building, safety and technical training & development, coaching and succession planning.
* Lean manufacturing skills and systems development utilizing a CMMS (Centralized Maintenance Management System).
* Demonstrated knowledge of roll winding and conveyance, Systems utilizing mixers, pumps, hydraulics, high torque rotating equipment, lifting and rigging, is highly desirable.
* Project management experience with equipment installation, overhaul and improvement projects.
