Mission of the Position

Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQDE) - Supplier Task Force (STF) Maintenance Specialist ensures supplier has standardize Predictive and Preventive Maintenance program, support troubleshooting equipment, identifying, and addressing causes of downtime, avoiding failures that leads to non-quality machining and castings and supporting SQDE projects principally in Magna Powertrain (MPT) North America (NA) Driveline Systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Support with problematic supplier diagnosing problems and troubleshooting equipment, running tests to identify improvements of equipment to ensure robust actions are taken.
* Support the SQD during launching or engineering changes evaluating the basics of the process, preventive maintenance plan, tool life, process, and product validation.
* Evaluation of critical spare parts and inventory system.
* Support the SQD Die casting on conducting various supplier related audits on potential, new and current suppliers to Magna Powertrain: Supplier Capability Assessments, Run-at-Rates, Manufacturing Capability Audits, and take necessary actions as required.
* Support manufacturing locations on supplier related performance issues (conduct 8D verification, review containment process).
* Support new program launches, supplier localization, resourcing projects, etc.

Requirements and Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electronics) preferred.
* Experience on maintenance plan for dies and high pressure die casting machines, common issues and preventive maintenance, critical tooling and spare parts evaluation.
* Experience in Metallurgical/Metals background.
* Experience in effective project management.
* Self-motivated, drives for improvement, strong communication skills.
* 10 years of experience in Plant Operations.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing of aluminum injection process and machining, desirable to have worked in a manufacturing company of this commodity.
* Experience on evaluation of aluminum flow and cooling lines.
* High level of competence in interpretation of drawings through the use of GD&T, schematic, and diagram reading for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
* Basic knowledge in ISO/ IATF 16949 & VDA 6.3.
* Proficient in problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Shainan, Six Sigma, DOE, etc.).
* Basic knowledge in AIAG core tools: PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
* Proficient in Word / Excel / PowerPoint.

Work Environment

Willingness to travel (approximately 50-80% domestic and international), valid Passport.

While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
