(Level A) $91,402-$97,927 or (Level B) $102,952-$121,779 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation applies.

2 year (24 months) fixed term appointment is available for a Grant Funded Researcher to work on quantum technologies.

This position combines Computational Physics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, and Applied Mathematics, and presents a unique opportunity for a high achieving post-doctoral researcher to join a close working team to contribute to an ambitious project aimed at the development of novel quantum sensing technologies, in partnership with Defence.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to connect with world leading academics, and access to a state-of-the-art experimental Quantum Laboratory and facilities.
To be successful you will need:

Level A

PhD or equivalent degree (or thesis submitted) in Computational Physics, in Computational Electronics Engineering or in Computer Sciences.
Demonstrated knowledge of superconductivity, quantum technologies, or condensed matter physics.
Demonstrate programming skills; in as many of the following languages as possible, Python, MATLAB, C++, Fortran or similar.
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in addition to working effectively as a member of a research team and an interest in supervising students.
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, researchers, professional staff, and external stakeholders

Level B

PhD in Computational Physics, in Computational Electronics Engineering or in Computer Sciences.
Demonstrated knowledge of superconductivity, quantum technologies, or condensed matter physics. Include experience with superconducting devices, theoretical modelling, electronics chip design, circuit design and analysis and fabrication techniques.
Demonstrated skills in programming; in as many of the following languages as possible, Python, MATLAB, C++, Fortran or similar.
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, in addition to; working effectively as a member of a research team, and an interest in supervising students is essential for this position.
Demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication in skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with students, researchers, professional staff, and external stakeholders.
