The Role
A permanent opportunity has become available for a Trade Repair Officer (Defence Maintenance Support Representative) to join our team on a Defence contract in Moorebank, NSW.
As a Trade Repair Officer you will work with the Planners and Schedulers to manage external repair agencies to conduct inspection and maintenance on a wide ranging fleet of equipment.
This role requires an applicant with excellent communication skills and the ability to operate autonomously under the direction of Ventia Management and prime Defence contacts based in Moorebank. The successful applicant, demonstrating the majority of the desirable characteristics to meet the responsibilities of this role, can expect to be supported with training and assistance that may be required to fill potential gaps in their experiences or current skillset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess work requirements from a work order and technical documentation. Conduct parts ordering activities via Defence-mandated IT systems and processes and the subsequent management of this stock. Source new subcontractors as required and audit their practices to ensure they meet our clients’ requirements. Organise on-site repairs through local maintenance contractors, and to conduct minor technical repairs within scope of trade qualification. Manage off-site maintenance activities through the reviewal of quotes, purchase orders management and invoicing. Manage Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental (SHEQ) issues related to sponsoring local maintenance contractors. Liaise positively with key Defence equipment and facility stakeholders. Ensure relevant safe work processes are provided and adhered to by subcontractors.Requirements:
Certificate IV – (Engineering – Mechanical, vehicle or electronic / electrical or equivalent) – essential. Experience in maintenance management, quality audits and/or technical inspections. Previous experience in military maintenance environment (including use of Defence IT systems eg - MILIS) - desired but not essential Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and proactively with a keen eye for detail and forethought Current driver’s licence for class C (manual) vehicles.If you are keen to apply please email your CV to or apply online.
