Working for a well established and internationally renowned company you will work closely with the SHEQ Manager to support the business and coordinate activities and colleagues in all aspects of Safety, Health and Environmental matters involving the product and chemicals associated with the production process.

You will need to posses:

  • A technical background in chemical or material science
  • A Degree (or equivalent) educated in a science or materials discipline
  • A NEBOSH qualification would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability the Management of MSDS'
  • An understanding of Global Chemical Legislation, in particular REACH, UK REACH, CLP and GHS.
  • An understanding of current chemical regulation requirements

Your role:

  • The main responsibility for this role is to manage and coordinate all aspects of chemical substance compliance and including incoming chemical inventory.
  • To ensure personal and team safety and to promote a 'Safety First' culture.
  • Keeping up to speed on legislative changes in relation to chemical management
  • Reviewing and updating MSDS' and integrated system on a legislative change and request basis
  • Maintaining legislative compliance with specifically REACH, UK REACH, CLP and GHS
  • Undertake reviews to respond to customers on Corporate Social Responsibility requirements
  • Liaising with sales department and customers on additional specific product safety concerns
  • Supporting the management of Dangerous Goods packaging and shipping under ADR/ IATA/ IMDG
  • Support in management of on site chemical inventory and control and COSHH assessments
  • Carry out COSHH and risk assessments
  • Support the H&S team and internal stakeholders with wider chemical management projects
  • Support the development and delivery of chemical management awareness training within the
    company
  • Act as process owner for Chemical Management processes
