Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of multi-disciplined software engineers in an agile environment.
  • Be fully responsible for their performance and delivery: regularly reviewing their work, provide coaching, resolve conflicts, blocking dependencies, etc.
  • Make decisions related to technical oversight with the team, including architecture, DevOps, coding, and quality assurance practices.
  • Provide a strong technical voice on the team to ensure secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable design and architecture.
  • Work with product owners, product managers, and other stakeholders to assist with product roadmaps.
  • Develop team members through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management.
  • Provide strategic and technical assistance to stakeholders on proposed project reviews by evaluating approaches, alternatives and timelines
  • Champion a rewarding and productive company culture
  • Maintain cutting edge knowledge of current and emerging technologies, industry trends, and standards

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills include:
  • B.S. degreein Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 8+ year hands-on development experience implementing enterprise-class solutions that are portable, robust, scalable, and secure
  • 4+ years of experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies in the areas of enterprise-level application development
  • 2+ years of experience with Angular or React
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing a team of engineers
  • Strong programming skills in Java
  • Experience developing Spring Boot services
  • Hands-on experience in test automation, CI/CD engineering practices to be applied in software development teams
  • Hands-on experience of IntelliJ IDE, Junit, ANT, Maven, Git/BitBucket
  • Hands-on experience of server-side development using REST/JSON APIs
  • Familiarity creating and using Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agile development processes, software testing, and documentation
  • Ability to comprehend detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple projects
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with SaaS concepts and infrastructure
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (AWS, VMWare).
  • Proven oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams

Additional Preferred Experience
  • PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Exposure to Graph database is preferred
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
  • High energy and a positive attitude
