Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating and packaging of shipment of material for E-commerce orders. Prepares orders, reviews paperwork, and applies all needed packaging and material for shipment. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under indirect supervision.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

* Coordinates and schedules all outbound loads and coordinates with sales and production.
* Determines proper loading order and placement of product.
* Verifies shipping documents and records any discrepancies.
* Will prepare loads to be shipped common carrier and outside freight companies.
* Pulls needed items from inventory using a handcart.
* Ensures all internal/external paperwork meets all Universal as well as HD regulations and procedures.
* Documents any shortage on orders, investigates reasons for occurrence and informs supervisor of the shortage.
* Takes and acts upon all calls for tracing and/or expediting orders.
* Set up all loads to be shipped via common carrier with outside freight companies.
* Coordinates routing of orders and dispatches carrier with orders and appropriate delivery instructions consistent with customer receiving times.
* Ensures all internal/external paperwork meets all Universal as well as DOT regulations and procedures.
* Maintains proper documentation and records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
* Takes and acts upon all calls for tracing and/or expediting orders.
* Use of Microsoft Reflections, Ship Station, and other programs.
* May assist with loading and unloading material from trucks or carts.
* Prepares various reports and correspondence as required.
* Performs other duties as required.
* Must have transportation to and from work.


* High School Diploma.
* Preferred minimum 6 months of experience in shipping and receiving or related areas.
* Working knowledge of warehouse regulations, practices, and procedures.
* Working knowledge of proper loading techniques and weight limitations.
* Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* HS graduate level or above in mathematics.
* Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures.
* Must be 18 years of age.

* Ability to pass a drug test.
* Ability to work hours mandated by management including weekends and holidays.
