The role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Chief Underwriting Office as National Portfolio Manager, Marine. In this role you will set the strategic direction for underwriting portfolio management with a 3-year horizon to ensure effective use of underwriting capital to deliver on profitability and growth of insurance products. You will do this by drawing in external thinking and internal analysis and challenging the status-quo.
How will I help?
A day in the role may look a bit like this;
Setting and driving an in-year underwriting strategy and monitoring key performance indicatorsLead your allocated portfolio by providing strategic underwriting leadership, portfolio management and technical expertiseProactively partner with stakeholders to drive product development, profitability and growth whilst seeking to minimise volatilityEnsure uplift of technical underwriting capabilities and future proofing of the Underwriting function within QBEDeliver well considered, nuanced strategic underwriting advice, taking into account organisational context, best practice and competitor landscapeLead the effective translation of AUSPAC strategic priorities and business product strategy into underwriting and product deliveryWork with actuarial and D&A teams to develop and refine portfolio analysisContribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve the underwriting systems and proceduresDevelop strong working relationships with stakeholders including distribution, actuarial, legal and compliance, marketing and reinsuranceWhat do I need?
