The mission of (Miwatj Health) is to improve the health and well-being of residents in the communities of East Arnhem Land through the delivery of appropriate and comprehensive primary health care and to promote the control by Aboriginal communities of primary health care resources.

The role of the General Practitioner, is to provide medical services to the population served by Miwatj. This will include the management of acute and chronic conditions and assistance with the delivery of promotion and primary health care.

What’s it like living in Ramingining?
Ramingining is a mainland community located to the west of the Glyde River about 30 kms southeast of Milingimbi Island and 580 km east of Darwin.
The community is located on the edge of the heritage listed Arafura Wetlands in Central Arnhem Land. In total there are 14 languages spoken across thirteen clan groups and the main language spoken is Djambarrpuyngu.
