**Responsibilities**

The Clinic Medical Assistant performs front and back office duties to deliver quality patient care, including providing direct patient care under the direction of a physician, providing care coordination through scheduling, charge capture, supply management, and equipment maintenance, and providing outstanding customer service to patients, physicians, Health System staff, and other professionals.

+ Prepares patient for examination.

+ Note brief history of reason for visit in patient's chart.

+ Assist the clinical staff in completing examination and procedures as instructed.

+ Completely fill out lab slips and other forms, when necessary.

+ Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients.

+ Assist the medical staff in patient education.

+ Under the direction of the nurse or provider in charge, take responsibility of medical supplies and cleaning of the medical instruments and equipment.

+ Obtain laboratory samples and complete paper work as ordered by the provider.

**Qualifications**

**Required:**

+ High School Diploma/GED

+ **Two (2) years of relevant experience**

+ Completion of Medical Assistant training program

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA)

**Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

+ Equipment skills: Blood glucose monitor; non-invasive blood pressure; wheelchair; centrifuge; thermometer - tympanic and oral; pulse oximeter; computer.
