**Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center** is an 881-bed quaternary care academic medical center that is a joint venture between Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke's Health. Located in the Texas Medical Center, the hospital is the home of the Texas Heart® Institute, a cardiovascular research and education institution founded in 1962 by Denton A. Cooley, MD. The hospital was the first facility in Texas and the Southwest designated a Magnet® hospital for Nursing Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, receiving the award five consecutive times. Baylor St. Luke's also has three community emergency centers offering adult and pediatric care for the Greater Houston area.

**Responsibilities**

If you are committed to humankindness, social justice, health equity and prepared to deliver care in new, innovative ways, you belong with us.

+ Expect to deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift

+ Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation

+ Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging

**Qualifications**

**Education/Certification/Licensure:**

+ Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma (required)

+ Bachelors in Nursing (preferred)

+ **Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required within 2 years from date of hire. Current employees grandfathered before July 2020.**

+ Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas (required)

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)

**Experience:**

+ Two (2) or more years of recent hospital RN experience in specialty area (required)

+ Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire (required)

**Hours:**

+ Float Pool - Flex III

+ (5) 12-hour shifts **per** **pay period (every two weeks)**

+ 1 Saturday & 1 Sunday shift per month

+ 1 summer & 1 winter holiday per year

+ Must float to multiple patient units
