Our Networks team are the architects and custodians of our networks that enable our core products suite - connectivity. The Networks team design, install and maintain production networks to enable maximum performance and availability to our internal and external customers.

The overarching objective of the IP Transit Team Leader is to ensure the smooth operation of the Superloop IP Transit network in order to provide maximum performance and availability to all customers. You will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing a geographically diverse team of Network engineers. The IP Transit team is responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining all network devices and services within Superloop’s global IP Transit network.

What will you do?

Own the operation of Superloop's global IP Transit Network.

Liaise with customers, suppliers and resolve faults as the final escalation point for IP Transit faults from the Superloop NOC.

Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network hardware and software faults by engaging with vendor Technical Assistance Center (TAC), completing lab fault replication and writing hardware / software fault documentation.

Manage the IP Transit network architecture, including capacity planning and network optimisation.

Support the IP Transit network automation tools.

Document and maintain low-level design documents (LLDDs), high-level design documents (HLDDs), concept of operations documents (ConOps) and network diagrams.

Manage the IP Transit network’s software lifecycle including QA testing and upgrades.

Manage global hardware sparing.

Complete network migrations / decomissions.

Ensure effective controls, process and contingency plans are in place by completing network risk assessments and maintaining process documents.

Manage internal relationships with Network Operators, Provisioning Engineers and Pre-Sales teams.

Adhere to all company and workplace health and safety guidelines.

Who do we want to apply?

Excellent knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 networks.

Excellent understanding of ethernet switching technologies.

Excellent understanding of IP routing and forwarding.

Ability to work without supervision and in a team environment.

Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Sound project management skills.

At least 3 years experience in a leadership position.

At least 3 years experience operating an IP Transit network.

At least 3 years experience working in a service provider environment.

Previously deployed RPKI including ROAs.

Ability to debug programming workflows in Python and Shell scripting.

CCNP or equivalent experience will be highly regarded.
