We are looking to speak with experienced, versatile leaders who can drive performance in our power plant operations, maintenance and HV distribution groups to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliant operations centre for our refineries.

Working with the WA Utility Manager, you will lead one of our power plants in either Wagerup, Pinjarra or Kwinana generating steam, power & other utilities for our alumina refinery and mine sites network.

Key responsibilities include:

Accountable for ensuring the power station’s objectives are met contributing to the successful achievement of the Refinery and WA Utility’s operating plans.

Establish and achieve production, safety, environment, efficiency, and cost targets.

Provide leadership and management to Operations and Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance groups.

Maintains a focused balance between tactical and strategic performance to ensure short- and long-term plans are implemented effectively.

Seeks out and implements performance opportunities by driving thorough cost and productivity improvement programs.

Attends and facilitates weekly, quarterly, and annually co-ordination meetings with Utility Station personnel.

Develop, mentor and grow a successful team to meet the current and future demands of the plant.

Ensures your team, at all levels, are involved in and committed to department safety plans

Ensures that effective systems are in place to regularly review and improve operating practices, equipment, and personnel safety.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent tertiary degree qualification.

Experience in large scale mining, fixed plant or power plant environments in a leadership capacity.

Knowledge of data management principles and application.

Proven Commercial competence including financial planning and budgeting.

Leadership experience with the ability to achieve results through others.

Track record of delivering results and supporting best practice around quality, production, and safety.

A mentality for excellence and continuous improvement.
